Sept 12 – 9/11 Attack: Following the executive order from President Joe Biden, the FBI releases the first declassified 9/11 document related to the investigation of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States. With the allegations of the Saudi Arabia government in support of the world trade centre.
On the 20th anniversary of the FBI investigation, a 16-page document detailed the contacts between the Saudi officers and the hijackers.
However, the 9/11 document from the FBI did not specify whether the Riyadh government was involved in the attack.
On Sept. 11, 2001, there was an attack on the world trade centre, which destroyed the Twin Buildings and killed nearly 3,000 people.
That said, in earlier September, Biden – the president of the United State have ordered the Department of Justice to do a thorough review of the document, and to release it.
9/11 Document Alleging The Saudi Government
Also, for years the relatives of the 9/11 attack have been requesting full information of the attack after the FBI contended that they possess a document that showed that the Saudi Arabian authorities supported the attack.
This is because the FBI discovered that 19 of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.
Before the release of the 9/11 document, the Saudi embassy in Washington has made a statement that the kingdom has no role whatsoever in the attack’s plot.
In 2004, a piece of evidence from a U.S. government commission reported that the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has no direct funding of the al Qaeda – the group which is said to have a relationship with the Taliban.
Seeking Billions of Dollars From Saudi Arabia
Following the request from the victim relatives, more than 20,000 injured people have also sued Saudi Arabia seeking billions of dollars. Most of them are businesses and various insures.
On September 8 2021, the Saudi Embassy in Washington issued a statement that “As past investigations have revealed, including the 9/11 Commission and the release of the so-called ’28 Pages,’ no evidence has ever emerged to indicate that the Saudi government or its officials had previous knowledge of the terrorist attack or were in any way involved.”
“Now the Saudis’ secrets are exposed and it is well past time for the Kingdom to own up to its officials’ roles in murdering thousands on American soil,” said Terry Strada – her husband, Tom was killed in the attack.
The Killing Of Journalist Jamal Khashoggi
President Biden was reported to criticizing Saudi Arabia over the kingdom human rights record, at the same time release a U.S. intelligence record which outlined and implicate Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi dissident in 2018.
However, the prince denies any involvement.
