The Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) leader died in August 2021.

He was the son of the founder of Boko Haram – Mohammed Yusuf and was said to have been trained by the known ISIS ahead of his position as the Boko Haram leader.

As the report outlined, aside from the financial support from the ISIS group. The Boko Haram leader has been said to have imposed taxes on the area it controls in Northern Borno. Which earn the group massive income in addition to fishing income.

After the death of Shekau, which happened in May 2021. Al-Barnawi also meet his end in August. The two death was labelled to be as a turning point in the war over terror.

Al-Barnawi, in addition to many sources of revenue, has established cells on the Lake Chad island and in villages where his fighter attacked.

That said, his death was pointed to two causes, some says he was killed by the Nigerian troops and the other explained he died in ISWAP camps during a rival war within the group.

Another two other possible death spot is a source that said he was ambushed in the Yale, Bama, Banki junction through the Kashimbri-Gulimba as another claimed he was killed around the Bula Yobe community.

However, the cause of his death is still unclear at the time of this report.

People have been looking out for what will happen afterwards, as some are afraid because of the similar case in Afghan.
