Shakir Scholarship, sponsored by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), an organization founded by Dr. Shakir who dedicated himself to education and working with inner city youth. is an excellent opportunity for high-achieving Muslim-American high school seniors. ISNA established this scholarship to support Muslim-American students in their journey towards higher education. Dr. Shakir dedicated his life to education and working with inner city youth, promoting Islam and the Arabic language.
Each year, twenty scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded to college-bound Muslim-American seniors. The scholarships are based on the students’ academic achievement, leadership experience, and volunteer service.
