Get Rid Of The BedBugs – How To Get Rid of The Little Monsters

Get Rid Of The BedBugs : We usually get scared by monsters or wild animals that can spill our blood. But what about the parasites that are too small to be seen yet fierce enough to suck human blood? These reddish-brown oval parasites are called Cimex lectularius and we generally call them bedbugs because of their concentration in the cracks of beds. Bedbugs are nocturnal and are usually 4-5 mm long which allows them to hide in holes and cracks. Beds, furniture items, clothes, and even paper can be their possible habitat.

The history of these vampires seems to go hand-in-hand with human history, with brief discussions in the ancient Greek period (around 400 BC) and afterward in 77 AD. Bedbugs were first spotted in caves where bats used to live. Many soldiers during World War II reported bug bites that didn’t allow them to sleep at night. But with the industrial revolution, many pesticides, like DDT, were used for farming that killed those bedbugs. By nature, these bedbugs are tough creatures and can form a resistance against less powerful insecticides. This happened after the pest control reforms when relatively milder pesticides were used which causes these bedbugs to grow again.

Grown-up bugs can be spotted easily as they crawl out of their hidings to various items in the room. Females lay eggs in hidden and dark holes and on average lay 500 eggs per annum. The newborns can survive for several months without sucking blood but it somehow affects their growth. Being a nocturnal insect, bedbugs prefer to suck blood during the night, and ultimately sleeping persons become their prey. They can sense motion and run away quickly if the person makes any movement during snooze. Bedbug bites do not cause an abrupt itching effect; rather a mild or raised bloat appears after a while.

If you stay in various hotels more often, then you must be aware of the risk of bringing these blood-sucking insects into your dwelling. Even if these bedbug bites are not toxic, yet you can have skin infection by scratching on the affected area. So instead of rubbing the skin harshly, apply an antiseptic formula to avoid itching and infection. Unlike other domestic insects like mosquitoes and cockroaches, bedbugs are hard to eradicate because of their high rate of reproduction and strong resistance to ordinary pesticides. Some pest control firms have formulated sprays specifically for these bugs and are effective for the long-term elimination of these parasites.

A professional pest control expert could spot the possible habitats of bedbugs as these tiny insects can hide in more than one place. At the rear of the old cupboard, headboard, wooden furniture, stacks of paper, and old clothes, these bugs can reside anywhere. Besides calling a pest control company, you must ensure that your rooms are properly illuminated by sunlight and are clean of any rubbish.

As is apparent from the name, bedbugs love to hide under the bed frame or mattresses. In the holes and cracks of the bed, the female bugs usually hide to lay eggs. You may even need to throw away your old bed if there’s an influx of bugs that are impossible to remove. You must be cautious about your house hygiene to stay safe from these insects.
