Jalalabad, Wednesday (Sept 22) – In a recent attack, gunmen killed 2 Taliban fighters and 3 civilians on Wednesday in a checkpoint in eastern Afghanistan, security sources and witnesses said.
The attack was carried out by gunmen who opened fire on a Taliban vehicle at a local gas station in the capital of Jalalabad, which killed two Taliban fighters and a gas station attendant. – Zeenews India
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, however, Jalalabad city is the base of Taliban rival – The Islamic State of Khorasan’s operations.
It was reported that unknown gunmen in a rickshaw, attacked a checkpoint in Ghawchak district of Jalalabad which result in a killing.
A Taliban official confirmed the attack but said the dead were all civilians.
A child was killed in the latest violence of the Taliban since its takeover of Aghan.
In addition to another child that died with two Taliban wounded in a separate attack, which bombed a vehicle.
In another incident, local residents told AFP that two Taliban fighters were injured while trying to defuse an improvised explosive device in Jalalabad. – AFP
Although no military group have claimed responsibility for the attack, the Islamic State group which is headquartered in eastern Afghanistan took responsibility for similar attacks in Jalalabad last week.
The attack at Jalalabad last week killed eight people in total.
IS-K also claimed responsibility for a bloody attack that killed more than 100 people at Kabul airport at the end of August.
The IS and Taliban seem to be in conflict, with last week attack, the conflict between the two militants could go wider.
That said, at least the Taliban the new ruling will take a measure for public safety.
