Praise be to Allah.
Some people feel a sense of bitterness and envy and would sometimes blame themselves for being unable to get what others have. That’s a serious issue, because it may lead to anxiety and extreme worry, which in turn lower self-esteem, as a relief, the is a way to stop feeling jealous of others.
When the feeling of jealousy happens to most people, they end up blaming the jins, why this may be true, it is worth noting that they cannot cross the boundaries Allah (may He be glorified) has set, except if He wills.
That said, it’s also reasonable to think of feeling jealous as a psychological issue, but which every way the problem of jealousy sources, it wouldn’t happen in the first place if Allah will.
Allah (may He be glorified and exalted) says in Surat ar-Ra‘d 13:11:
”For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah.”
To be clear, inside Tafseer al-Quran and ‘Azeem (4/437) Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
”That is, each person has angels who come to him in succession, guarding him by night and by day, protecting him against bad things and accidents, just as other angels come to him in succession to record his deeds, both good and bad, angels, who come by night and by day. So there are two angels on the right and left who record his deeds, and two other angels who protect him and guard him, one behind him and another in front of him.
So he is surrounded by four angels by day and four others by night, two guarding him and two recording his deeds.”
The Prophet (PBUH) said to his paternal cousin ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): “Be mindful of Allah, and He will protect you.” Narrated by al-Bukhari (2516)
However, it is not permissible for anyone to blame the jinn for everything that happens to you, so as to make yourself free of error or shortcoming, for Allah, (may He be exalted) has told us that everything that befalls the individual is because of his own sins and disobedience towards Allah.
As Allah said, in the Holy Quran ‘And whatever strikes you of disaster – it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.’ (ash-Shoora 42:30)
And another saying: Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness]. (ar-Room 30:41)
With regard to how to stop feeling jealous of others Allah, (may He be exalted):
Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer – We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward [in the Hereafter] according to the best of what they used to do. (an-Nahl 16:97)
According to the Quran verses so far, it should be clear that whoever feels something (good or bad) is caused by his actions toward Allah. So if you want to stop feeling jealous of others, you should start obeying the rule of Allah as He will reward you with a good life.
Conclusion
In conclusion, whoever wants to live a happy, good life and wants things to be made easy for him, get out of every crisis and overcome all problems he may face, has to believe, fear Allah and do the righteous deed. Otherwise, he will always feel jealous of others, not only that sadness may follow every action he performs.
As an advice, it’s not wise to fall victim to taking false measures that will lead to happiness, like smoking or drinking alcohol. But true happiness and high self-esteem can truly come from adhering to be obedient to Allah (may He be exalted).
And Allah knows best.
