The U.S. Should Not Withdraw Patriot Missiles From Saudi Arabia Says, Saudi Prince

Due to the treats faced by the Kingdom, Saudi Prince says the U.S. should not withdraw patriot missiles from Saudi Arabia.

In Saudi Arabia, Prince Turki Al-Faisal told CNBC that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia want the U.S to leave the American defence equipment behind as it will show the commitment of Washington to the Kingdom.

This was Prince Turki Al-Faisal’s comment on the question in the needs of the Middle East from the U.S. in the current Taliban new government in Afghanistan.

“I think we need to be reassured about American commitment,” the prince, Saudi Arabia’s former intelligence chief, told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble last month.

“That looks like, for example, not withdrawing Patriot missiles from Saudi Arabia at a time when Saudi Arabia is the victim of missile attacks and drone attacks — not just from Yemen, but from Iran,” he said.

Pulling Patriot missiles from the kingdom is “not indicative of America’s declared intention to help Saudi Arabia defend itself against outside enemies,” Al-Faisal then added that he hopes the U.S. will give assurances of its commitment to deploy “whatever is needed” to help.

Response To U.S Declare To Release 9/11 Documents

However, U.S. President Joe Biden has ordered the release of documents related to the September 11, 2001 attacks.

As a result, Family members of 9/11 victims reported having said in a statement that “much investigative evidence has been uncovered implicating Saudi government officials in supporting the attacks”

The Allegations On Saudi Arabia

In the response to the allegation to Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom embassy in the U.S. on Wednesday said in a statement that “Saudi Arabia can only reiterate its longstanding support for the full declassification of any documents and materials relating to the United States’ investigation of the terrorist attacks, with the hope that a full release of these documents will end the baseless allegations against the Kingdom once and for all,” it said.

The Saudi Prince, Turki Al-Faisal then said ‘ If there are still documents within U.S. archives that have not been put to the public, I think they should be brought out because there will be nothing in them whatsoever.’

In August, Prince Turki was also reported to say Saudi Arabia has never hidden anything about 9/11.

He added that the kingdom conducted its investigations and “found absolutely nothing.”
